Navia is looking for a Drafter
to join the Naval Architecture team.
This role involves creating detailed drawings that specify dimensions, networks, assembly and construction (lamination) of production of boats. The technical drafter must have a strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards.
Job Description
- Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for a variety of boats and their tooling
- Work closely with naval architects and marine engineers to translate 3D and specification into production-ready plans
- Maintain drawing archives and manage version control
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including structural, mechanical, and systems engineers
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a drafter, CAD technician, or draftsperson in projects, boat industry would be considered a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino or equivalent)
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Technical criteria
- Proficiency in CAD Software: AutoCAD, Rhino or equivalent
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret engineering schematics, general arrangements, and manufacturing drawings
- 3D Modeling & Rendering: Capable of creating and interpreting 3D models and assemblies
- Understanding of lamination and GRP building is considered a plus
