Initially an island so small, it got its name from a pea (Hernesaari is Finnish for Pea Island). For decades, the island’s only resident was a single building: the Henry Ford automotive factory. Today, that factory is our home. Now firmly part of mainland Helsinki, it's an easy trip by bike, tram, or car, and of course, arriving by boat is always an option.
