Kaj Franck – From the past to the future

Iittala invited us to design their exhibition booth for Finland’s largest furniture, design and decoration event, Habitare. The display we created paid homage to the iconic homeware items designed by Kaj Franck. The concept took the visitors on time travel highlighting Iittala’s journey through the decades: starting from a 1950s dining room setting and gradually progressing to the kitchen counter of tomorrow.

The fixture of the stand was created using primary forms, such as cuboid, rectangle, cylinder and triangle. They were the foundation of Kaj Franck's design, too.
We wanted to create a very clear concept with bold implementation. The Iittala stand was an eye-catcher of the fair, so I think we did a good job.”
