Think ahead – Aktia’s customer experience

Aktia is a Finnish bank, asset manager, and life insurer founded in Helsinki in 1825. Aktia provides individuals, corporate customers, and institutions solutions through digital channels and face-to-face in their offices. As part of the larger concept and brand update, we were asked to renew Aktia’s spatial customer experience. We wanted to question the conventions and traditional ways of communicating credibility and building trust. Within the spacial concept we divided the spaces based on different customer needs and interactions.

New ways to engage with clients

We got inspired by and dedicated the spatial solutions to the updated Aktia brand and its key attributes: smart, bold, personal, and active. These attributes were translated into a spatial concept recognizable as the new Aktia. The renewed spaces embody Aktia’s service promise: "Think ahead" and serve as a setting where Aktia digital services, people and spaces come together as one meaningful customer experience.

Studio, Hub, and Service Point

The spatial solution is based on three sub-concepts, each serves different functions and client needs. Aktia Studio is the flagship of Aktia spaces enabling new ways to engage with clients privately in a premium location and collectively through events and gatherings in a relaxed living room-like environment.

Aktia Hub ­is the platform where clients meet with Aktia representatives and it also includes functional and pleasant office spaces for Aktia employees. The Service Point offers daily banking services in central locations. Here, the most important interaction points are the service and self-service points.

Dynamic and accessible banking services

The renewed spatial concept comes to life by pairing the bright digital look of the Aktia brand, and the muted tonality of the physical spaces. It is dynamic through the use of dark tones and solid materials, and simultaneously approachable through the combination of natural materials, textiles, and soft elements. The renewed spaces make customers feel welcome and valued with refined materials and attention to detail while communicating self-confidence and success with bold design features and distinctive architectural solutions.

Signage & graphics

Fit for the digital era

Facilitating customer interactions by clear and inspiring storefront and interior graphics. In addition to way finding, we created a signature animation for Aktia, communicating the brands dynamic drive forward used as screensavers in meeting rooms and on screens in the shared spaces.
